Summary
Jason, Daniela, and Charlie flee Chicago with only cash, ditching phones and sticking to back roads into Wisconsin’s Northwoods. The barrage of messages from other Jasons, including Jason2 from Jason’s own number, underscores the danger. They break into a shuttered lakeside cabin near Ice River and try to settle. Daniela, shaken, questions whether Jason is truly hers and confesses the early allure and differences of Jason2. Jason comforts her and later logs into the UberChat, proposing a two-day-later lottery at the power plant to determine a single Jason to remain, and to destroy the box for Daniela and Charlie’s safety.
In the morning, at the lake, Jason admits the lottery plan; Daniela rejects being treated as a prize and fears an unworthy Jason could win. They share a semblance of normalcy—pancakes, a thrift store run, and a movie—then drink and dance at a roadhouse, reconnecting intimately back at the cabin as Daniela concludes that this Jason is uniquely hers.
Late that night, Jason spots movement outside: a dying Jason crawls through the snow, warning that others found them and that the Jeep’s tires are slashed. After a distant gunshot, Jason rushes inside to secure exits and rouse his family. In the dark living room, a bloodstained, armed Jason with a facial slash ambushes him, intent on stealing his clothes and identity. A vicious fight ensues; the attacker loses his gun, draws a knife, and begins to overpower Jason—until Jason2 appears, shoots the attacker twice, then turns the gun on Jason.
Daniela and Charlie arrive, forcing a standoff. Jason2 justifies his actions as the pursuit of a regret-free life; Daniela condemns him. As Charlie advances, Jason slaps the gun away, grabs the fallen knife, and repeatedly stabs Jason2. Mortally wounded, Jason2 returns Jason’s wedding ring and instructs him to check the Suburban’s glove box. With gunshots erupting elsewhere at the cabin, Jason retrieves keys, dresses, and leads Daniela and Charlie out the back, through the woods.
They reach the Suburban hidden off the road. Another Jason fires at them, shattering glass and piercing the windshield; Jason accelerates, clips the shooter, and speeds into the night. He throws out Daniela’s and Charlie’s phones, concluding the lottery can’t work and the Jasons won’t stop. At his urging, Daniela opens the glove box and pulls out a small, familiar leather bag, hinting at a new path forward.
