Summary
- The chapter begins shortly after the narrator's sixtieth birthday, when he develops heart trouble and ends up in a prison hospital.
- Confined to his hospital bed, the narrator reminisces about notable moments from his past – such as walking past childhood homes in the Night City, moments from his teenage years, and his early memories with his mother.
- A character named Zoey, dressed as a nurse, appears and interrupts his reminiscing. She quickly and discreetly removes a tracker from his arm, causing him pain and surprise.
- Zoey places a new tracker under his tongue and also gives him a device that syncs with it.
- The chapter ends with the narrator staring at the lights from the devices as they flash in sync.
